Michael Quintin Kistler
Kistler is not the average college student. He excels in academics, extra-curricular activities, and life in general. His hard work efforts and personality make him an exceptional 21 year old. Michael Kistler was born on April 1, 1990. Growing up in Ohio his whole life he has learned to endure the area of Fremont, OH. He currently resides in Athens, OH in which he attends Ohio University.

Childhood:
Raised by loving parents, Kistler has realized the value of a traditional family. He is the son of Kirk and Anne Kistler whom have always showed him the prosperity in life. Family plays an important role in Michael’s life. Growing up with two older brothers; Andy, 27, and Dave, 29, Michael has learned to look up to his elders. Kistler says, “My brothers are very hard working and I aspire to succeed as they have.” Throughout life his family was very close and attentive. Every Sunday in the summer since Michael can remember they have spent it at their cabin in Findlay, OH. “It’s an amazing time, all of us cook out and swim and have a really good time together” Kistler stated.

Kistler attended high school at St. Joseph Catholic private school. He has forever enjoyed education and the pursuit of a degree. At St. Josephs, Michael stayed very active by playing golf during all four years he attended school. His athletic ability allowed Kistler to attend his first year of college at Owens College in OH due to his scholarship in golf. He was titled NJCGA academic all-American during his time there. “I enjoyed playing golf, and Owens was a great school but I did not see myself graduating from there, that’s why I decided to transfer.” In 2010, Michael Kistler transferred from Owens College to Ohio University. A scholarship was not present for Kistler here however; it was a better fit for school. He was able to fulfill his lifelong endeavors by getting accepted into the business school. Currently, he is a double major in finance and marketing. “I decided to do a double major to have more options and pursue a fortune 500 company.”
Active Philanthropic and Social Life:
After being admitted into Ohio University and not playing golf, Michael decided to do something to get more involved. In his first winter quarter at Ohio University Kistler joined the Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity. “I was elected to be on the standards committee and I served time on the board for my business frat” Kistler said. He is now the philanthropy head for Alpha Kappa Psi. Kistler enjoys getting very active within the community of Athens, OH. Helping others to achieve goals gives Kistler a sense of well being. Michael enjoys being in his frat and the qualities that accompany it.

Life Long Aspirations:
Kistler is very enthusiastic about graduation. With a double major in marketing and finance he is hoping to work for a large and profitable company. Michael is willing to pursue anything that will comply with his majors. Prior to graduation Kistler wanted some hands on experience in the work force. Just recently Michael received the call he had been waiting for. He applied for an internship at Sherwin Williams in Cleveland, OH during the summer of 2011. After hearing the good news Michael is currently looking forward to his summer. “It will be a great experience working for Sherwin Williams, the opportunities are endless” Kistler stated. For his internship he will be working alongside of the marketing director of the building materials group. They will coordinate their ideas for a project plan for fluid applied roofing systems. Kistler couldn’t be happier with his small steps into the big world.
