Basic Background

Individual is a single human being as distinct from a group, class, or family, according to the Oxford Dictionary. “You always have you best friend around.” Both Ashlee and Cori Irvan feel that way about one another. The Irvan’s were born on June 12, 1992 in Springdale Ohio and are both sophomores at Ohio University but are involved with very different activities. Cori says, “I am a early childhood education major because I like interacting with people, especially children.” On the other hand, Ashlee states, “I am studying wild life and conservation biology because I want to make a difference in the world.” Though these twins may look very similar, they are very different.

 Working

“I love working with kids they have such an innocence about them.” For the past three summers, Cori has worked at Triangle Y Camp in Garrison, North Dakota. It is a summer camp for kids. She loves this job saying, “It’s fun to get away from home, and get paid to play.” While not at camp, Cori is a waitress at a local restaurant. Ashlee prefers to relax as she lifeguards at a local swim club. “I get a nice tan and get paid.” Though the hours are long she thinks it is well worth it. Also, she seasonally works at American Eagle Outfitters.

Activities

“I love music, nature, and relaxing.” Ashlee has laid back personality but big dreams to change the world. “I enjoy yoga and broomball!” Ideally, Ashlee would like to work with animals possibly at a zoo. She has also considered living near the water to work with sea animals. She enjoys playing with puppies at Petland, and spends a lot of time volunteering helping animals. Cori likes similar activities but adds “I like hanging out with family and friends, and hiking is something I enjoy.” She often goes to local outdoor destinations such as Radar Hill, and Old Mans Cave. They both enjoy attending concerts, and they were fortunate to see Train, Matt Nathanson, and Maroon 5.

Thoughts About Being Twins

Being identical twin, people naturally group them together and call them “the twins.” Ashlee says, “you are not considered an individual as a twin.” They have a lot of the same friends and they constantly group together. “She is my other half,” says Cori even though we both do prefer being referred to as or own individual.
